This Privacy Policy outlines how I collect, use, and share your information when you use my
services. To work with me, you will need to provide certain personal information, including your name, email address, and payment details (unless you are a pro bono client). You can also choose to provide personal information during our coaching sessions.
I may rely on a few services to collect, use, and share your information, including:
- When you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as
- by agreeing to coaching or signing up for my email list;
- If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order, or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your transaction if required by tax law or settling disputes; and
- As necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as:
- Providing and improving my services.
- Compliance with any third-party policies and terms of use, including any third-party technology services
Policy and Terms of Use. Information about my customers is important to my business. I only share your personal information for limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
- Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services, such as Zoom, Microsoft 365, and occasionally Mural, a collaborative tool. I may share personal information, such as your name and email, with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform the agreed-upon services.
- Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
- Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:
- (a) respond to legal process or to government requests
- (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies;
- (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or
- (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services
and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this
information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to
enforce my agreements. I generally retain your data for a period of 4 years.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
For users who register on our website, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have several rights in relation to your
personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights are limited to
specific cases, described below:
Access.
You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below. that we are required to retainIf you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Change, restrict, delete.
You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons), I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
You can object to
(i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and
(ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to
receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have
compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using it or if it is necessary for legal
reasons.
If you wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without
prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local
data protection authority.
